Adriatic depth map: the EMODnet grid, not a deepest-point claim

The depth layer is a planning grid, not a claim about the deepest point in the sea. A habitat score is habitat suitability, not a fish count.

The parent is what the chart shows. Check a pin on the habitat checker.

Definition

Depth here is the metre reading under a sea pin: contours, colour tint, and soundings. It is not a navigation depth and not a fishfinder ping.

Where the data comes from

The chart hub already states the source: EMODnet Bathymetry, gridded at 1/16 arc-minute, about 115 m cells, drawn from zoom level 10. This page does not add a new grid size.

How to read it on the chart

Read class first, then metres. Tight contours are a slope. Wide spacing is flatter bottom. The cell is about 115 m across, so a tint can stay one colour while the water in front of a mole changes inside a boat length. Tap two or three points along the step.

Figures already on the chart hub

The chart hub already states these planning figures. The northern shelf is mostly under 50 m. The Gulf of Trieste is under 40 m. Mid-basin a pit reaches about 270 m. The southern basin exceeds 1,200 m, past shore and small-boat fishing. This page does not add a deepest-point number of its own.

Free vs VIP

Depth is on Free, with Folk-5 seabed and gilthead habitat. Other species scores need a pass. Plans stay on Free vs VIP.
