What you will learn: how to scan the view for braks — lumps of seabed that sit higher than the flat ground around them.

Description in the app: Scans for underwater reefs and rocky outcrops (braks) - seabed elevations above flat surrounding bottom.
Where: Anchor mode only → Tools → Brak Finder
A brak is structure: a reef, a rocky knoll, a bump. Fish relate to it; so do snags. Treat results as places to inspect, not as a wreck list.
Run a scan
- Switch to Anchor.
- Zoom to the area you will fish. A huge view is slow and coarse.
- Open Tools → Find Braks.
- Adjust filters if you want, or leave the defaults.
- Tap Find Braks. While it runs you see Scanning… and a progress line (Scanning point x of y, then Processing final results…).
- Success: Found n brak(s) and marks on the map.
- Tap a mark. Brak Information / stats explain the hit. 3D seafloor can open in Brak relief mode (VIP) to see the rise.
Clear removes results.
Filters (defaults)

If min depth ≥ max depth, the tool stops you: Min depth must be less than max depth.
Higher roughness and score = fewer, sharper lumps. Lower them if you get zero hits on ground you know is rough.
If the scan fails or never ends

Shore jigging, surfcasting, and spearfishing do not include brak finder. Use Zone finder there.
