Fishing Po Delta
The Po Delta approaches are the soft, river-fed edge of the north-east Italian strip: Sacca mouths, silt plumes and shallow Folk-5 plates rather than a single harbour town. AlgoCatch maps inspect depth and habitat, certified gilthead/pandora/scorpionfish anchors, hillshade and the generic fish heatmap. After floods the water can stay unreadable for days. This is not south of Ancona, not the Tyrrhenian, and not a claim that every fishing mode works in Italy.

Gilthead and pandora on mixed/sand. Scorpionfish where harder patches appear. Other anchors and pelagics are not Italy-complete here.
Access and trip shape
Multiple small mouths and ramps rather than one city harbour. Distances look short on the map; reserves and shallows slow you down. Plan a short outing with a clear return.
This is Italian water on the Trieste-Ancona strip. Recreational rules, harbour limits and any AMP or lagoon restriction are yours to check. AlgoCatch does not sell a permit and does not draw every reserve. Recreational rules.
Water character
River sediment, shifting colour, soft Folk-5. Not Istrian rock. Protected wetlands sit next to fishable sea-side edges. Read the boundaries.
Season
April-June can be strong once spring floods drop. July-August: first light. September-October are often the cleanest anchored days. After a Po flood, wait.
Techniques
Find a colour edge or substrate change, then anchor. Do not invent secret channels inside reserves. Extra species overlays are not advertised as Italy-complete.
Depths and bottom
Often 2-15 m. Local pockets a little deeper. Colour and substrate beat chasing metres.
Under a working pin the chart reads Folk-5 sand, mixed. Colour and substrate decide more than chasing metres.
Conditions and when to stay ashore
Floods, jugo and reserves close more days than wind alone. AMP and park rules stay yours. Recreational planning only.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the whole Po Delta a fishing zone?
- No. Much of it is reserve or too shallow. Fish the sea-side approaches the map actually scores.
- Why is the water brown?
- River sediment. After floods, wait for colour to settle before trusting inspect or a spot list.
- Do I need an Italian licence on Po Delta approaches?
- Yes. This is Italian water, and park or AMP rules can close belts the licence alone does not open. AlgoCatch does not sell licences.
- When should I stay ashore on the Po Delta?
- Stay ashore after floods, in a jugo that keeps colour high, and when reserve boundaries leave no legal sea-side edge.
