Chioggia is the working southern gate of the Venetian lagoon, closer to Po sediment than to tourist Lido beaches. March-May: gilthead as water warms. Summer needs dawn. September-November often best after tourist traffic drops. After Po floods, wait for colour to settle.
Techniques
Read the mouth, then anchor on a substrate edge. Do not invent marks inside restricted lagoon channels. Shore jigging and extra anchors stay unverified for this strip.
Depths and bottom
Often 2-18 m in the working approaches. River and lagoon water keep it shallow. Structure and colour count more than depth.
