Fishing effort is a prediction of where fishing activity is likely to concentrate — aggregation pressure — not a live AIS plot of boats, and not a habitat score for a species.
Use it as a “will this mark be crowded / pressured?” hint, together with habitat and structure. It will not tell you who is out tonight.
