Longline on clean Adriatic bottom: mixed belt, not Rovinj rock

Longline on this corridor is a set on clean bottom. Sand or mixed Folk-5. Sea bream or common pandora. It is not a trolling speed run. It is not a string of hooks over Rovinj rock. The line is gear in the water. Length is thought of in metres. Always follow local rules, licences and soak-time law. The app does not check legality.

The parent is How you fish the Adriatic. The Latin card is longline. The in-app how-to is knowledge/longline.

Clean bottom

Longline mode on this chart targets gilthead and pandora. Those fish sit sand edges and mixed mid belt. Suggested paths follow that idea. A hundred-metre segment between productive spots is the product’s working length, not a fish count.

Rock Folk-5 is the wrong primary class. Fishing Rovinj is islands and rocky reefs. That water is a dentex and wall conversation. It is not a clean mixed belt. Do not set a visitor longline story on those reefs because the harbour is famous.

A clean mixed belt is the working picture. Fishing Poreč already treats mixed as the midday fallback off tourist sand. Fishing Murter is channel and passage water with mixed coves. Those are existing examples, not a tour of every town.

Sand Folk-5 can also be honest when the edge is real. A hundred-metre miss on empty flats still blanks you. Class first. Then the set.

How you plan a set

Open the mode. Pick sea bream or pandora. Suggest candidate lines in the view, or draw vertices yourself. Saved routes share the trolling store. Free caps how many you keep. Automated suggestions have a daily cap in spirit with trolling route suggest. Drawing by hand is not that cap. If a lock appears, read Free vs VIP.

Route statistics are a length and a score along a plan. They are not a census. Watch the sounder. NOT FOR NAVIGATION. Suggested lines are plans. Marine law still wins. Traffic still wins.

Italy extra overlays are not advertised as complete for every mode. A chip is not a certified Italian longline map. Read coverage.

Rovinj rock versus a mixed belt

Use the two pictures as a test. If the pin reads rock, walls and drop, you are on the wrong method. Open dentex or shore jigging or spear instead. If the pin reads mixed or a sand/mixed change, a set can be honest when zones exist.

Poreč is not Rovinj. Examples are examples. Which coast is still where you sleep.

Cargo and ferry water can run next to a pretty mixed belt. Leave space. That is access. Not a longline product.

Licence is not a mode

A hull set usually means boat paper in Croatia. Guests on a skipper’s boat still need their own recreational document unless the 2026 parent says otherwise. This page will not reprint prices. Croatia shore versus boat is the split.

Last method

Class. Clean bottom. Species the mode actually names. Coverage live or not. Then set or stay ashore.

Open mixed or sand. Open Rovinj only as the rock counterexample. Open the techniques hub. Then leave.

A rock-only town should not borrow this essay. If the town has no public mixed or sand story, skip the method. Empty is better than a borrowed Poreč paragraph on Rovinj reefs.

Squid and cuttlefish are a night window on their own species page. Longline setup on this product does not name them.
