Dalmatia
Fishing Murter
Murter sits in the heart of central Dalmatia, where island channels quickly give way to shallow, structured bottom. Anglers fish from shore, small boats and in the passages between islands, where current and relief create natural holding zones. AlgoCatch shows a habitat model for gilthead seabream, mackerel, bonito and pandora here — on this page you only see public habitat zones scored up to 50, not the top (green) peaks.
Habitat zones (score ≤ 50)
We only show public zones with score up to 50. Green / high-probability peaks stay in the VIP app.

Season
Spring (March–May) is strong for seabream and pandora on structure. Summer (June–August) brings mackerel and bonito along currents and temperature breaks. Autumn (September–November) is often the most predictable for anchored fishing. Winter is slower, but shallow coves are still worth checking in settled weather.
Techniques
Anchoring over mixed bottoms and small rises. Trolling along passages and channel edges. From shore: surfcasting and light jigging at accessible points. Longlining makes sense where the bottom is cleaner and deep enough for safe anchoring.
Depths and bottom
From bathymetry in the location frame: about 0.1–416.2 m (median 62.1 m, 41155 samples). Around Murter, typical working depths for coastal and island fishing are roughly 5–40 m, with local deeper pockets in the channels. The model weighs depth together with substrate and morphology — not metres alone.

Frequently asked questions
- When is the best time to fish around Murter?
- The most reliable windows are late spring and autumn. Summer is excellent for pelagic species on current; early morning and evening cut boat traffic pressure.
- Can I fish from shore or do I need a boat?
- Both. Shore and piers give access to shallows; a boat opens passages, anchorages and channel edges where the habitat model shows more structure.
- What do zones scored up to 50 mean?
- This is the public slice of the AlgoCatch habitat model. Only zones with score ≤ 50 are shown. Full green zones and precise anchorages are in the VIP app.
