Fishing Umag

Umag is the door to north-west Istria, where shallows, long sandy stretches and proximity to the Savudrija flats are part of the local fishing story. AlgoCatch was born in this kind of water answering “exactly where”. Here you see a guide and public habitat zones (scores ≤ 50).

Habitat zones (score ≤ 50)

We only show public zones with score up to 50. Green / high-probability peaks stay in the VIP app.

Season

Spring is key for seabream on the flats. Summer needs early windows and attention to temperature. Autumn often brings the best compromise between catch and calm seas.

Techniques

Anchoring and light trolling over shallow structure, surfcasting, careful fishing on substrate changes. On the flats, position precision beats long runs.

Depths and bottom

From bathymetry in the location frame: about 0.1–298 m (median 25 m, 21748 samples). Expect mainly 2–25 m. In northern Istria, small depth and bottom changes are often decisive.

Frequently asked questions

Is Umag linked to the Savudrija flats?
Yes, geographically and for fishing. Savudrija is the nearby, more “flats-focused” destination — see also the Savudrija fishing page.
Is shallow water harder to plan?
Often yes — that is why the habitat model and app anchorages save hours of searching.
What do I get with VIP?
Full habitat layers, anchorages and route-planning tools on app.algocatch.com.
